army!brat - wedding day
Who: Sam/Steve & bunches of others
What: they get married
When: September 18, 2010
Where: Ft Hamilton Army Base, Brooklyn
Their wedding day had finally came and if she hadn't been keeping so busy with decorating and making sure everything was perfect she would have been crabby for being away from Steve the entire night and day so far. She couldn't complain about the night before until he'd left. She was surprised they'd both managed to help out with the planning and decorations without running into each other.
At 1PM, Sam had taken a shower and got her hair thoroughly dried, Carol and Diane and her best friend maid of honor Courtney at their apartment with her. They helped her get ready except she was putting her dress on at the church as well as the rest of the girls in the wedding. It was around 2pm when they were finished up, all the girls in the wedding party meeting at the reception hall to change and finish getting ready.
They'd decided on a maid of honor and two bridesmaids for Sam, a best man and two ushers for Steve along with Sam's four nieces as flower girls. No ring bearer meant the best man had their wedding bands and Sam was glad she remembered to move her engagement ring to her right hand until after she got her wedding band.
They had less than two hours to get ready and Sam refused to get dressed yet, wanting to wait until the last minute. She passed the time by helping Carrie and Shannon get her nieces dressed and ready. Once everybody else was ready it was time for Sam to get into her wedding dress with her mama, Carol, and Courtney helping her. She checked out her tummy in the front, barely visible underneath the fabric of her dress, the back was next along with the veil, Sam all smiles when she looked up at the three of them.
Looking up at the clock she noticed it was 3:50pm. They had ten minutes to make it over to the setting for their outdoor wedding, Sam making sure beforehand that nobody would be able to see her until she appeared at the arch on her father's arm. After everybody had packed up into the car for the short drive, she was starting to look nervous and she glanced over at Carol. "Steve is already there, right? He didn't back out at the last minute, did he?" she asked. She was teasing but at the same time she needed that reassurance.
